Government announces plans to unblock housing development and to do away with "defective EU laws" relating to nutrient neutrality

Michael Gove and Therese Coffey announcement on nutrient neutrality has just been announced: 100,000 more homes to be built via reform of defective EU laws

Through amendments to the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill and other environmental measures, the Government will look to tackle the main sources of nutrients entering protected sites including from agriculture and improving waste water treatment instead of limiting new housing developments.
