SHDF Wave 2.2 - Funding Applications Now Live

Following the success of SHDF Wave 2.1, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (“DESNZ”) has now launched SHDF Wave 2.2 – to help fund the improvement of energy performance of social homes in England: Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund: Wave 2.2

The amount of funding available in SHDF Wave 2.2 is expected to be up to £80 million.

Key dates and milestones to be aware of:

W/C 20 November 2023Competition Launch / final guidance, clarification questions and application forms published
W/C 15 January 2024Competition deadline / close date
Late February / Early March 2024Successful projects notified
March 2024Grant funding agreements to be signed with successful Lead Applicants / projects to start

In terms of eligibility, Local Authorities, Combined Authorities and registered providers of social housing (including those with arms-length management organisations that are also RPs) and registered charities that own social housing may apply.

Any social landlord that was successful in receiving funding through SHDF Wave 2.1 (and have signed a Grant Funding Agreement with DESNZ either directly, or as part of a consortium) will not be eligible to apply for SHDF Wave 2.2.
