Devonshires is delighted to have acted for long-standing client Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) on the 100% share acquisition of York Stadium Management Company Limited (YSMC) from York City Football Club.
YSMC is responsible for the management of the 8,500 capacity LNER Community Stadium which hosts York City Football Club and York City Knights Rugby League Club. The acquisition means that charitable social enterprise leisure provider GLL will be able to use its experience and expertise to further develop fan experience and the infrastructure of the LNER Community Stadium.
Our Real Estate and Projects team at Devonshires had previously advised GLL in relation to the delivery of the York Community Stadium Project with Wrenbridge Sport, which was voted “Property Deal of the Year” at Property Week’s 2018 annual awards.
The acquisition reflects GLL’s continued commitment to the LNER Community Stadium and the wider development of the city of York, as well as Devonshires’ desire to continue to assist clients in the property and leisure industry with their growth aspirations.
