We're delighted to have strengthened our Housing Management & Property Litigation team with the appointment of two new Partners, Aoife Murphy and Mandeep Sahota. Aoife and Mandeep join our 82-strong team led by Lee Russell and Mark Foxcroft. Aoife will be based in our London office, with Mandeep joining the Birmingham team.
The appointments reflect continued investment in a team that advises registered providers, local authorities and property owners on complex, often sensitive housing and property disputes. Together, they add further depth to our practice known for combining technical rigour with clear, pragmatic advice.
Aoife Murphy joins Devonshires with more than 20 years’ experience as a property litigator, advising on both commercial and residential matters. She is well known for her exceptional client care and clear communication, particularly when navigating complex landlord and tenant disputes. She has extensive experience in adverse possession claims and restrictive covenant issues, alongside a strong track record in mediation and settlement negotiations.
Prior to joining Devonshires, Mandeep worked in the Housing Management team at Capsticks. She has over 10 years’ experience in advising registered providers and local authorities on a broad range of housing management and litigation matters. Her work regularly involves complex possession proceedings, injunctions and closure order matters, often where issues of vulnerability, substance misuse or mental health are present.
Commenting on her appointment, Aoife said: “I am thrilled to have joined Devonshires and very much looking forward to working with such a highly regarded team. The firm’s reputation for combining technical excellence with a genuinely client-focused approach strongly reflects the way I practise.”
Mandeep said: “I am delighted to be joining Devonshires, bringing my experience to a market-leading team delivering expert housing and property advice and creating positive outcomes for communities.”
Mark Foxcroft, joint head of the Housing Management & Property Litigation team, added: “We are delighted to welcome Aoife and Mandeep to Devonshires. They are excellent additions to the team, bringing experience and judgement that will strengthen our support for our clients who are operating in an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment.
